From a humble 24-foot container in Lae, Chayil Information Technology has grown into one of PNG’s leading education technology providers. Between 2014 and 2023, it installed offline e-libraries in 64+ schools across 11 provinces, reaching an estimated 60,000–80,000 students and transforming access to quality learning nationwide.

On December 9, 2015, Lae Secondary School in Morobe Province made national education history by becoming the first school in Papua New Guinea to pilot the Chayil IT E-Library. The initiative introduced an offline digital solution that enabled students and teachers to access thousands of learning resources without internet connectivity. Officially welcomed by then Lae MP Hon. Loujaya Kouza, the project was recognised as an innovative and affordable step toward improving access to quality education. Developed by Chayil Information Technology, the rollout transformed the school’s computer laboratory into a digital learning centre aimed at narrowing the resource gap between urban and rural schools.
