From a humble 24-foot container in Lae, Chayil Information Technology has grown into one of PNG’s leading education technology providers. Between 2014 and 2023, it installed offline e-libraries in 64+ schools across 11 provinces, reaching an estimated 60,000–80,000 students and transforming access to quality learning nationwide.

In 2014, with just K300, a broken laptop, and a 24-foot container behind his parents’ house as his office, Shane Chinau started Chayil Information Technology. He walked to schools in Lae, did presentations, fixed computers, and saved every kina until he officially registered the company with IPA—turning a small dream into a national vision.
